The Solent Protection Society was represented at the Planning Inspector’s Hearing of an appeal against the rejection by the National Park Planning Authority, of proposals to develop a large multi-storey house adjacent to the foreshore at Thorns Beach. The Society has consistently raised objections against this and previous proposals for development on the lines now under appeal. Among our reasons is the impact on the seascape of this relatively undeveloped part of the Solent shore. The Inspector’s decision will probably not be available for some months.
